The Rose Man Nursery was started in 2005 as a backyard nursery at the home of owners Irwin and Cindy Ehrenreich in Barnstable, MA. Their rose garden, with over 600 roses, was featured on the New England Cable News show New England Dream House, in A Garden Lover’s Cape Cod by C.L.Fornari, and in the Spring 2008 issue of Country Garden Magazine.

In 2008 the nursery was relocated to Carver. At this location, a series of garden rooms were created which was later featured in the Boston Globe. Due to economic difficulties, this location has closed for business.

In 2010 roses will be sold by appointment in Carver, at farmer’s markets throughout Cape Cod and the South Shore area of Massachusetts, at Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich, MA on select weekends, and by mail order. There may be other locations added during the season. Local delivery can be arranged. The nursery offers a large selection of roses from many growers including Star Roses, Weeks Roses, Jackson & Perkins, David Austin, Chamblee’s Rose Nursery (including Buck Roses) and Bailey Nurseries Easy Elegance line. The roses are grown in 3 gallon pots in a soiless mix most suitable for growing roses. They are cared for until sold, with preventative spraying for disease and regular feeding with Rose-Tone and Neptune’s Harvest.

Irwin and Cindy Ehrenreich are active members of the Lower Cape Rose Society. They are also members of the American Rose Society, Rhode Island and Connecticut Rose Societies and Heritage Rose Foundation. They are both Consulting Rosarians for the American Rose Society. They travel to many district and national conventions to learn about the latest rose varieties and new rose growing products. They care for over 600 roses in their garden in addition to the roses of their rose care clients.
